Whether you're grieving, planning for the future or supporting someone, I'm here for you. My name is Hannah, and I'm a dead positive grief coach, educator and funeral celebrant. *pun thoroughly intended

My journey into grief care started because people around me died, a lot. Maybe no more than is usual but I took notice.

My parent's talked openly about death and loss, I asked questions and always popped into a cemetery to check on the locals when I went somewhere new.

I was about 12 or 13, when my Dad told me that the next funeral I went to would be very sad because it would be unexpected, a shock I think he said. My grandparent's had all died, and my dad was right. It was a shock. Fast forward to 15 and David, a friend from school didn't show up one week, then he was in hospital and before we arranged a day to visit him. He was dead.

I didn't know at the time that David's death, and how I and my friends were treated at school in the days and months that followed would shape my life so much, but I'm certain that this is where the seed was planted to change how grief and death are handled by society.

I became an independent Funeral Celebrant to facilitate funerals and memorials that serve the bereaved and the deceased to create a service worthy of the life they lived, and the people they loved.

But grief hits hardest in the small moments of quiet, the ones you're not expecting, hearing a song they loved, or place they went to, coming across their writing on a scarp of paper and not knowing what to do with it, or bursting into tears because you see a takeaway soy sauce bottle in the gutter.

We never know when grief will rear it's head and speak, if it will whisper or roar, and mostly we don't know how to respond.

I work with businesses and individuals on grief literacy & education as well as one to one coaching.
